Life Vest

Let us deal in the hypothetical. Say you were in a boat that sunk and you were wise enough to put on your life preserver before the boat went down. Another victim to this tragedy comes up to you crying say are going to drown as they have nothing to hold on to. Do you:

A) Give them your life preserver
B) Let them hang on to you

You will probably pick B.

Here comes another victim and they want to hold on also. Do you:

A) Give them your life preserver
B) Let them hang on to you

You will probably pick B.

How many people will you let hang on to you? How long will it be till you drown yourself?

It is human nature to want to “save” others. At what cost though? There are cost that we are not even aware of when we are generous. We need to understand how often we are willing to “drown” in life and for what reasons.

Hard Choices

This political season has brought out the worse in people. Trying to “force” one’s beliefs down someone else throat will not make them agree with you any more. Perhaps media is making this out to be more than it really is.

People have lost sight of making the hard choices though. We MUST understand why we make the choices we do before we can make good choices. The best choice is not always the easiest to make. Usually, it is the hardest.

Simple examples are:

  • I do not want to work
  • I do not want to discipline my child
  • I do not want to stand up for what I believe in

Of course we all want the easy way to do things but is it really best?

Right and Wrong

There is NO right. There is NO wrong. There are ONLY DIFFERENCES.

We always want to prove to others that we are right/correct. This creates arguments, dislike, frustration, stress, and even hatred.

If we understood that people are different and understood to accept and embrace the differences, life could be so much better.

Do for me

We can not ask our leaders/politicians to do for us when we are not that interested. When we vote, we MUST educate our selves. When we ask our leaders to do for us, we MUST understand the issue at hand. They will not educate us or give us all the information we need to make smart choices.

Simplicity

Life is simple. By making life more complicated (drama, desire for things we can not afforded, high expectations, ect.), we make it more difficult but that is our choice. Just because we choose to make like more complicated does not mean life is not simple.

Political parties and the primaries

Regardless of the party you may belong to, we all must agree that the Democrat and Republican party system for the primaries is NOT designed for the people/voters.

With the Democrats, you have super delegates that can vote for anyone they want.

The Republicans have an inconsistent form of voting across the states where the general public does not even vote in some state.

Whichever way is best, the parties should have a consistent method for all states.
